About this Cook
I'm 49, married 32 years. I have 3 grown children, 2 grand-daughters, and a great bird that talks. I have been a professional cake decorator for 20 years.
My favorite things to cook
cakes of all kinds, cookies, desserts, comfort food, old-fashioned farm-good dishes
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year the first snowfall means my special chili recipe. Christmas is when I make my special candy and cookies, and gingerbread houses.
My cooking triumphs
Making my children's wedding cakes. Making all the desserts for the sky boxes at Lambeau Stadium in Green Bay. Making cupcakes for Brett Favres daughter. I also made a birthday cake for Pete Rose, and cookies for the visiting Dallas Cowboys.
My cooking tragedies
I was just married and was preparing beef liver for my new husband. I cooked it too long and it was like shoe leather. My husband ate it anyway.

Angel Food Candy
This is great! I have tried a lot of different reipes, and this one is a good one. For the person who said it smells like campfire marshmallows burning; you are probably cooking it on too high heat. I used to burn mine all the time, because I was in a hurry to get it up to the required temperature on the candy thermometer. I have learned to cook it slower, and it turns out every time. I also use light corn syrup, and it tastes good.

Scarlett's Best Ever Sugar Cookies
These are great!!! I just started making my yearly quota of Christmas cookies. I thought I would try these, and from now on they will be one I make every year! My husband just ate 6 of them, out of the first batch. I rolled them in powdered sugar, after they cooled a little bit. YUMMY!!!!

Bud's Potato Salad
This recipe rocks!!! I have always wondered how I could get more flavor in the potatoes themselves. I thought marinating them would make them all mushy. I made this recipe exactly as directed, and it is superb. I added some hard boiled eggs though. We love it!!!
