About this Cook
I moved to NYC from Poland when I was 16. I live in Tucson now with my husband, 3 month old baby daughter, 2 dogs and 2 cats. My husband and I have been vegetarians since 2006
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much everything, I love sweets though so I like baking a lot!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking Polish soups, they remind me of my childhood.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook vegetarian meals, it was a challenge at first to figure out how to cook without meat but then I discovered that the possibilities are endless. Allrecepies was a great help with that.
My cooking tragedies
Years ago I made fish with cumin and it was absolutely the most horrible thing I have ever tasted.

Quinoa and Black Beans
This is really, really good and so healthy. I sauteed a yellow bell pepper with the onions and I used red quinoa because that is what I had. I replaced a can of black beans with a can of red kidney beans. Oh and I used parsley instead of cilantro because I don't like cilantro. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and the dish came out awesome.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos
These burritos are fantastic!! I followed the recipe exactly except cutting back on the spices a little since we had only about 4 cups of beans. I love love the bean mixture and I love even more how it tastes together with sweet potatoes. The combination is perfect! We didn't have any sour cream so we ate it with low fat plain yogurt and it tasted great!

Spinach Lentil Soup
This was good and healthy. I chopped the carrots instead of shredding them. I didn't have any salsa so I added 2 medium fresh tomatoes, about a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and about 2 tablespoons of tomato paste. This came out perfect!
