Simple Scones, minus currants
About this Cook
I've been married for just a few years and I have a toddling little girl and a chubby baby boy. I'm a procrastinator by nature so "Quick & Easy" is my cooking creed. :P I also sell Pampered Chef, which has GREATLY improved my kitchen skills.
My favorite things to cook
Potatoes. In any shape or form. And one-skillet dinners (which usually involve potatoes).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hm. Haitian rice, although I have yet to try it. Oatmeal-made-delicious... I'm not really sure about much else. My mom is more of an experimental cook, not a traditional cook.
My cooking triumphs
I made a peanutbutter cake with icing all from scratch--I was so proud! I also cooked up a steak one night that my husband enjoyed so much he was speechless at first.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to name... My "Fix It and Forget It" slow-cooker cookbook has been edited on the front cover to "Fix It and DON'T Forget It" because I once burned chili in it. It was foul. I think I had assumed the slow-cooker would turn itself off after the allotted time had passed.

Simple Scones
I love this recipe, and I have yet to try it with the currants or raisins ! My tip would be what my mother passed on to me--whenever you're making scones, the key is to handle it as little as possible. The perfection of a scone is in the lovely brown lumpiness, not in treating it like piece of pie.
