About this Cook
I work in a grocery store currently. It's nice because i have easy access to try new foods and share ideas with customers. It's not where i ever thought i'd end up because i went to college for television production, but i couldn't find a job in my field and since i'd worked in a grocery store through school i knew i'd be able to get hired right away and i've been there ever since.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook almost anything. I'm known around friendsd and family as the 'cookie lady'. I like to bake cookies for holiday gifts and other times throughout the year. I like to make my own pasta sauce and every year we go to the apple orchard and get fresh apples to make applesauce and pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both of my parents worked while i was growing up, so i learned from my mom how to make interesting meals fairly quickly. She always had certain items on hand for that reason. On the weekends my dad would often bake bread, pies or brownies. At the holidays my mom, my brother and i would make cookies together. We like all kinds of easy to prepare foods like tacos, casseroles, pasta and stir fry.
My cooking triumphs
The past year i developed my very own cookie recipe based on S'mores. After several trials we found the right combination of ingredients and they turned out awesome.
My cooking tragedies
A while back i tried to make an apple pie. It turned out awful! The crust was burnt, the filling was runny, it was terrible. I got so frusterated i threw the whole thing in the dumpster, including the crappy pie plate i baked it in. The next day my girlfriend took the same recipe, bought a new pie plate and baked the pie and it was perfect. I think it was then that i learned baking needs precise measurements and i don't always have the patience for that.

Banana Pudding IV
This was AWESOME! I made it for a BBQ and everyone LOVED it! I used fat free cream cheese and sugar free pudding and sugar free cool whip and it was just sweet enough with the condensed milk. I also used 1 cup less on the milk because i wanted a thicker consistency and it was AMAZING! I think it would also go great if you substituted any other fruit with the bananas, the topping lends itself to so many other flavors like strawberries, or citrus zest in the pudding mixture, etc etc etc. Thank you so much for a delicious and versatile recipe!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V
this soup is awesome and so easy to make too. I took it 1 step easier and used a store bought rotisserie chicken and shredded the meat off it instead of cooking my own chicken. I also added a can of black beans. I like the flavor of the soup, it was just the right amount of heat, not overly spicy and definitely enjoyed the toppings of cheese and sour cream, altho they are not necessarily needed, the soup is great by itself.

Best Cherry Pie
definitely not the best cherry pie i've ever had. I agree the filling has too much sugar, i'd cut back to at least 3/4 next time. Filling was simple to put together and tasted good, but it's not the best ever.
