About this Cook
I've been cooking for years but just recently have I really come to enjoy cooking and experiment with new recipes. I now love to try new things and enjoy cooking for friends and family and use fresh herbs. I even grown my own herbs and some vegetables that I use for cooking.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are Comfort Foods, Asian and Chicken dishes. Anything with meat and potatoes is great but I also love stir fry recipes that use lots of fresh veggies and herbs. I've just begun experimenting with seafood recipes as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All holidays with my family are great but I guess I love Thanksgiving best. My sister and I share cooking duties for our small family of 11 and enjoy making the traditional turkey with all the trimming and trying out new recipes for side dishes and desserts.
My cooking triumphs
My most favorite cooking experience is when I grilled and made all the side dishes for a party of 30 and everything turned out fantastic and everyone asked for the recipes to take with them. My second best experience is when I cooked an entire breakfast with a scrambled egg and potato casserole, bacon, coffee and bagels on a little Smokey Joe charcoal grill at a rustic campsite.
My cooking tragedies
The worst cooking experience I had was when making garlic soup and pureeing the hot soup in the blender it expanded and exploded out of the blender all over the stove, walls, ceiling and me!

Banana Margaritas
Excellent!! I made these for Superbowl and everyone loved them. Even my non-sweet drinking/beer only friend! I did use 4 large bananas and reduced Triple Sec slightly to give them more banana flavor. They were great....creamy and delicious. I may try adding a little banana liqueur next time to see if it makes any difference...but we love them! Thank you!

Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas
This recipe is fantastic!! Best quesadillas we've ever had. Easy to make, tasty. I made them Saturday for the first time for a group of 4 and everyone loved them. All I did different was to add chopped garlic to the pico and used both monterrey jack and cheddar cheese. These were great reheated the next night as well. Served with sour cream, homemade guacamole, mexican rice from this site and banana margaritas later in the evening...a perfect Mexican Fiesta! Also served the pico with chips and that is great too. Thank you for sharing.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II
This recipe was very good!!! They were all gone in minutes at my Halloween part last night. And I even made the mistake of using 1 lb. of sausage instead of the 1/2 lb. called for. I did like the consistency that way. As others suggested I may experiment with adding the stems, garlic and cheddar cheese next time. Also agree with others that they need to be baked for 10 minutes at 400 rather than broiled for 2-3. Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing.
