I am a pediatrician and business owner. In my free time, I love to experiment with new foods and crafts--basically anything that presents a fun challenge! I have recently taken on canning and cake decorating and now have stacks of jam and jelly on top of my kitchen cabinets :)
My husband and I both share a passion for creativity in the kitchen and spend many "date nights" selecting, planning, and executing delectable, gourmet meals. Not only do we enjoy the time spent together, but it sure beats the $100+ tab we could easily run up in our favorite restaurant!
My favorite things to cook
Anything sweet, especially with chocolate! I also like studying and preparing cuisines from other regions of the country and globe. And while I like things that are edgy and unique, I also appreciate getting back to the basics of how things are made (for instance, recently making homemade mayonnaise).
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to share recipes and cook with my mother, grandmother, and sister. We all enjoy cooking and love to try new things.
My cooking triumphs
My secret recipe chocolate ice cream and my coffee party punch. I also won a healthy recipe modification contest in medical school and published a cookbook during the same time.
My cooking tragedies
Alas, old-fashioned fudge and the meal my husband calls "creation."
