About this Cook
I'm a Bostonian currently living in Georgia to attend Life University. I'm hoping to graduate in 2012 with my doctorate in chiropractic. I'm looking forward to helping others see their full health potential.
My favorite things to cook
When it comes to food, I'm allergic to milk, butter, cheese and yeast. This has lead to some very creative cooking. I love to bake but most pastries require something I'm allergic to. My favorites are biscuits, cakes, roasting chicken, pot roast, chili, and beef stew.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I always cook together for any major holiday. We plan the meal and share in all the work. No matter how small our kitchen, we never seem to trip over each other.
My cooking triumphs
With a friend on Thanksgiving, I made a Turducken. I had to make everything from scratch including the bread for the dressings because of my allergy to milk(I accepted the repercussions that night for yeast). It was amazing and unlikely an event I will ever repeat.
My cooking tragedies
I've set fire to my kitchen more times than I should admit.

Easiest Spicy Cod
Maybe I shouldn't have used hot salsa. Likely would enjoy better with medium. I baked on a bed of crushed tortilla chips sprinkled with cayenne pepper. Which didn't help the heat rating. My husband topped his with cheese. I served this with tri-color corn pasta.

Passover Sponge Cake (Plava)
Went over great. I made a mistake with the sugar and used a 1/2 measure when I thought it was a 1/3 measure. I ended up using 2 cups of sugar instead of 1 1/3 cup. Cake came out great. Also served pureed raspberries, fresh raspberries and whipped cream

Maple Muffins
NIce Light muffins. I would have liked them to be sweeter, next time I make them I'll be adding brown sugar. I also made them with vanilla soy milk instead of milk. they froze and reheated nicely
