About this Cook
I am a single mom with 3 children and cooking is my passion. I love to cook for people, and come up with my own recipes. I'm famous for taking old southern recipes that take hours to cook and condensing them into just a few minutes. I have tons of my own recipes that for some reason can not get published on allrecipes so if you interested just email me and I will be more than happy to send them to you.
My favorite things to cook
Good ole' Southern Cooking, Mexican, Italian, baking, desserts and appetizers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't cook, infact most of things I ate growing up came from the microwave. I started cooking when I was 15 because I was tired of TV dinners.
My cooking triumphs
My homestyle green beans. The recipe is on the web site. They are so good my ex-husband asked me to teach his girlfriend how to make them, what a compliment.;)
My cooking tragedies
FRIED CHICKEN. I am close to perfecting it but not in the traditional sense. The first time I made it for now ex-husband we were newly married and I had never cooked. After some 3rd degree burns and lots of tears I put the "raw" fried chicken in the microwave so we wouldn't die from food poisoning and my starving husband who had patiently waited 4 hours for supper sat down and ate it. Needless to say I didn't make that for sometime and to this day hate to make it.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce
Would it be wrong of me to eat all this from the bowl with a spoon.. It was AMAZING! I didn't have the tomtilla's or celery salt so I replaced it with salsa and chilpolte peppers, 1. It was the BOMB...

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I
I liked it, hubby liked the crust, my 4 year old spit it out. I followed the advice of the other viewers and added brown sugar to the top. I checked the recipe several times because I couldn't beleive I didn't need to do something to the cake mix and checked it several times in the oven. I did not use the cinnamon my family really doesn't like it. It was good not the cobbler I grew up on I actually prefer more of a pie like crust.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
I didn't have the dark beer or the coriander and I too used chili powder instead of sauce. I did add some adobo peppers and it had a nice smoky flavor. I also left out the chilli peppers because I was cooking for little ones. This was a really good chili but not exactly the show stopper I was looking for.
