About this Cook
The best part of cooking is being able to share my dishes with my friends and family. I've often bake and cook exclusively for this purpose.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy baking - I've been doing it since I was a child, in fact. Recently I've been trying to get more involved in cooking more elaborate meals and appetizers and have found I enjoy this quite a lot as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Polish and I'm from the midwest so cooking warm, feel-good dishes is in my blood. I like to make my family dishes healthier so I can feel better about feeding them to my own children.
My cooking triumphs
I've had a few. Really I just have a couple of dishes that are a regular hit. I just need more of them.
My cooking tragedies
Oh I've had some :)

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine
I made this for my family - my husband, his parents, and our kids. It went over very well. My husband was talking about it when he woke up the next morning! There were a few things I did differently, but I imagine this recipe to the letter would be terrific. I did a 50/50 mix of half and half and milk; I used fresh salmon that I precooked on the grill; and for simplicity I used pre-grated Parmesan cheese. It turned out wonderful. Served with garlic toast. I will try it with smoked salmon next time, because there will certainly be one. This is a great meal for a dinner party; of course, with people who like salmon!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup
This soup is terrific. I made it for my family, and served it simply with just some garlic bread. I skipped the step of pureeing half the soup - it sped up the process, and tasted wonderful regardless. I also added mushrooms, but imagine that this recipe just as is would be great.
