About this Cook
I love to cook. I spend a lot of time trying new recipes for my husband and two children. I work outside the home part time as a RN in our local OB dept.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are my favorites to cook but with trying to watch our diet almost constantly I find it interesting to modify recipes to be lower fat and healthier.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making christmas cookies. My extended family, friends and neighbors all get excited when I show up at their doors with huge platters of several types of cookies. I also have a tradition of making bread for people for special occasions like a new baby or new home. I've tried many new bread recipes this way, I make one loaf to eat for us and one to give away!

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread
I make this pretty regularly. It is a pretty forgiving recipe. I've made it as is and it's great, also have used brown sugar instead of honey when I'm out. Have used whole wheat flour in place of part of the bread flour with good results as well. I always make it on dough setting then turn into a pan and let rise, bake off at 350 for about a half hour.

Quick and Easy Clam Chowder
Great, easy and ppl can't stop complimenting. I sauteed some onion, garlic, celery and grated carrots to make it seem less "canned" I also ended up leaving out the whipping cream because frankly I didn't think it needed it. Very good easy way to make clam chowder.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup
Good recipe. After heating my onions, celery and carrots and broth... I put it all in my crock pot on low. added the noodles and chicken and ppl could help themselves when ready.
