Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
It was delicious, i made 4 times as much as the recipe calls for, but i did use some suggestions others made. I added 2 cans Rotel diced tomatoes with chilies and 1 can corn drained. It was a big hit, i had sour cream and different kinds of grated cheeses and scoops corn chips to serve with it. I will be making this over and over again.

Classic Stuffed Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
I made this last night for a christmas party dinner i hosted and it was all gobbled up. I thought the mushrooms were a little too over powering the flavoe so i will half that next time. But over all a very tasty recipe. Oh and i did add a lot of chicken seasoning as i like my stuffing well spiced not bland.

Eggless Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
I love this eggnog, i never add the rum, i just dont like the flavor but i do add some cinnamon. I usualy eye ball it when adding the milk, cause i like it thick but not too thick. I use fat free milk and it still turns out quite creamy. Thanks for the great idea its a winner at my christmas party every year.

White Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
Love this recipe, But i sujest you heat the milk before you add it, that helps break down the flour. I use it with Lasagna, I just mix it with a tomato based veggi or meat sauce, then layer as you would any Lasagna. Add a little pepper and salt. You can use this to make croquets too.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
If you add siera mist or other lemon lime sodas you dont need to add the sugar. They dont put sugar in it in Spain. And it should only have the wine as the alcohol, gives it a fresher taste. The aussie shiraz/cab is a great wine for Sangria.

Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Was so easy to make, my only complaint is that after the night in the fridge it was like a rock. It needed to come to room temp for me to be able to roll it out for use.

Boston Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
I only needed the cream (or i like to call it custard) part of this recipe for a 3 layered cake my mama makes. The constant stiring gave my arm a good work out. I was so happy that it didnt stick to the bottom of the pan as it was boiling. I used a soft rubber spatular to stir as another review sugested and it worked like a charm. It is not a sweet recipe which i think is just right, it is best to leave the sweet part to the actual sponge cake is can go along with. You can also put it in individual cups once cooked let cool and serve with caramel sauce. LOVE IT!

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2006
This was so easy to make and a total show stoper at church brunch today. I baked it in a square pyrex pan because i didnt have a round one, sliced it into squares and there you have it. I do call it a cheese cake flan though, as traditional flan doesnt have the cream cheese.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
This is so lovely and great served with fragrant steamed rice. I did add 1 can french onion soup instead of the dry mix and 1 can of golden mushroom soup also, it intensifys the flavor and makes it mouth watering GOOD. My mum who is a very critical cook realy liked this too.

Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
My mum has made caramel this way since before i was born. One thing i seriously suggest is let it cool in cold water 20 minutes before you open the can or it can spurt out at you causeing seriouse burns. My impatient helped me learn the hard way.

Mark's English Sausage Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
Yeah BABY! I love sausage rolls, i lived in Australia most of my life and there it is also staple food. To remedy the greasyness of the recipe, all you need to do is add white bread soaked in warm water then squeeze out water thoroughly and add to the sausage, if you get the Jimmy Dean sage sausage its even better. And dont forget to dip it in good old tomato sauce or ketchup for you americans. MMMM Im hungry now!

Aioli

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
Tastes like home. I like to use an electric hand mixer its so much faster and gives the exact same taste and texture. Granted the traditional recipe does not have eggs but it is a lot harder to make and wears your arm out. My family uses this egg recipe all the time. Grill sliced potates and pork chops and use this as a slathering or dipping side and WOW, welome to SPAIN.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
This is sooooo good. I realy dissliked the putting and out and in the oven bit, but it is worth the effort. I love making this for potluck's and lazy sundays. I emailed this to my relitives in Spain and they were happily surprised too. I do add a little garlic powder and use the sage sausage. NOW THATS BRUNCH :)

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
I love this recipe, i have used it for a few years now and still love it. To keep it extra moist and half the cooking time i place the already seasoned turkey in an oven roasting bag and seal it with the twist tie thingy. MMMM

Calamari

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2005
I am from Spain and one thing you must add to this recipes is 1/2 Tbs of Superfinly chopped Garlic (or galic powder will do just fine too) and 1/2 Tbs dried parsley. It adds the true spanish flare to this classic dish. Do this and this recipes will be well over 5 stars. Make some Aioli from this site and WOOOHOOO, mouth watering goodness awaits your taste buds :)
