About this Cook
I was born and raised in america but, am now living in egypt. I don't have twisted humor, life is just morbid.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Myself and yeast have now becomes friends. I used the crispy creme doughnut recipe from this site. Snickerdoodle II cake. I love cooking Lamb, honey ginger chicken, and more. Dry rubs are my favorite way to season. I love cooking the food more than eating it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't really have any cooking traditions. I don't celebrate any of the common hoildays. But, the best time I had was whipping up a meal with my sisters for my mother and step father. serving them food by candle light. All the elegance of a fine resturant.
My cooking triumphs
Baaah. forget this. It's funny stories time. I was missing my sister one day and thus had the grand idea of fixing her fav meal. Poor pregnant me falls to sleep only to wake up thinking * Boy (snigger) is someone burning something. They should really get that. Dozes back off. Boy they are still burning it. Wait it's me. I left a candle burning. Runs through house like crazy, no candle. Ahhh Nap time again. Wakes up again. Hey what the heckity beckity. Ahhha I left the food on.
My cooking tragedies
The pot is popping, food is burnt. This is scary. Fast forward past me putting on crazy armor to stop damage to myself. I burnt the pot so bad, the next day I went to make potato chowder and the bottom was left on the burner. I'm surprise the pot made it the first day. can anyone say stainless steel shrapnel (sp??>

Lemon Chewy Crisps
A so-so recipe. I followed the recipe to the T but, thought the dough tasted very floury so, I added an extra egg and then balanced everything out with extra sugar instead of the almonds and 1 whole lemons juice. They turned out okay. I really wanted a super lemony cookie so, these didn't cut it but, I'll play around with the recipe it's a good basic.

Cabbage Beef Soup
This recipe was sooo good I couldn't wait for my husband to come home for dinner so I ate alone. Mind you i didn't follow the correct measurements - I just did it on my own and made some adjustments.I left out the cumin, added celery, green peppers and used crushed tomatoes instead (that's all I had on hand). I seasoned my ground beef with jerky seasoning, salt, black pepper, powdered garlic, Braggs* amino acids (like worchestershire sauce but, all natural no salt added) and chilli powder and garlic powder then let marinate for about 2-3 hours. I ate it with Kofta and naan, delicious. The only problem I had as delicious as it was, it didn't sit right on my tummy maybe 2 bowls was too many. I'm freezing the rest so I can eat it for dinner on those days I don't want to cook. This recipe is a def keeper!

Chalau
I can't remember if gave a review for this recipe. This is a wonderful recipe. The ingredients are staples in my home. The flavors are subtle. I used chicken for this recipe and cook it for the same amount of time. I eyeball the spices everything is in harmony with each other. I toss in fresh spinach but, frozen spinach goes over just fine too. *chomps licking good*
