About this Cook
I have two beautiful girls (ages 12 & 7). I work all day in Chicago at a great company and love to come home and bake at night.
My favorite things to cook
I'm definitely known for my baking as I'm a ferocious baker. It's not unusual for me to work all day, come home, have dinner and begin baking. I love making homemade pies, cookies, breads, etc. I also enjoy trying new cooking recipes, although my girls are not always happy with the results. LOL
My favorite family cooking traditions
I host Thanksgiving every year at our home. The largest group was 25 and the smallest was 5 so each year is different. I also love baking at X-mas time. Christmas 2008 I made about 10 different types of cookies, candies, etc. (approx. 6 dozen each) and passed them out to teachers, coaches and friends.
My cooking triumphs
I've mastered the ultimate cut out sugar cookie and beautiful decorating. It's very time consuming so I don't make those often. I have mastered a fabulous apple pie with homemade crust and the best lasagna ever!!
My cooking tragedies
Oh my, where to start. I couldn't hardly cook a thing when I first got married so we ate out all the time. The worst was a Thanksgiving where I decided it would be great fun to deep fry a turkey. HUGE MISTAKE. Not only did I ruin the outside deep fryer but the bird never did get cooked that year. Needless to say I never deep fry a turkey.

Slow Cooker London Broil
Very good and extremely easy. Even my picky girls liked this. I didn't add the onion soup mix, just salt and pepepr. I'll definitely make again.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
These are my absolute favorite oatmeal cookie. Even my 12 year old DD loves these. I do add additional flour to ensure the cookies are not flat. I also do not roll them in sugar, flatten them with a fork or put the dough in the fridge. They're soft and chewy and eaten faster than I can make them.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak
It was decent. Although my girls (ages 12 & 6) tried it neither cared for this recipe. My hubby & I thought is was pretty good. I am having the leftovers today as I don't like to throw out food. I probably won't make again.
