Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
5 stars for ease of preparation and great flavor! The shredding was so easy--I hadn't done this before and thought that part would be tricky, but it shredded apart effortlessly and I had it back in the crockpot in less than a minute!

Ham 'n' Noodle Hot Dish

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
good and simple. I made homemade bread crumbs by cutting up cubes of bread, toasting them in the oven, spraying with oil, tossing them with parsley, marjoram, and thyme and parmesan and baking again for a few minutes...this added some needed flavor to the dish....made it more savory.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I used a pound of turkey and just eyeballed all the rest of the ingredient amounts....they turned out fabulous! I did use one whole egg and subbed onion powder for the minced onion and I added worchestershire. I lightly floured both sides of the burger which helped it form into a patty a little better, making it much less sticky.

I used peach yogurt instead of the soy milk and it turned out really great--very smooth and tasty.

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

all that sugar seemed extreme--especially since I'll down the whole batch myself every time! Second time I made it I used French vanilla flavored yogurt and was able to omit ALL the sugar AND the vanilla extract and it tasted great.

Bermuda Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
This is one of the best salads I've ever had! (didn't use mushrooms) Only used one big bag of spinach and modified some of the other ingredient measurements, and ended up using half the dressing, but it came out excellent! The dressing is wonderful.

Macaroni 'n' Cheese for Two

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This was so surprisingly good!! I added ground powdered mustard, and the overall flavor was so rich and delightful! Mine only baked for about 18 minutes, and so my onions were still a little crunchy, but I like onions so I didn't mind:) I love this as a change from the butter-flour-milk kind of homemade mac n cheese.

Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I really love this dish--it's one of my go-to weekday dinners, and I always split the casserole between two 9x9 baking dishes and freeze one, so we get two meals out of it. I use different cheese mixtures every time, and it always turns out great. I've used fresh and frozen broccoli, and both work well, I always use "real" cut up, seasoned and cooked chicken breast, and I always use brown rice for some extra nourishment. It tastes delicious!!!

Peanut Butter Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
This came out tasting perfect....just like a peanut butter filling you'd have in a pie or something. THe only issue I had with mine was that my milk mixture burned to the bottom of the pan and so I ended up with some little pieces of burned milk in my pudding, but it still tasted great! I would just advise to watch that pan carefully:)

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
I don't know why, but I ended up with way more seasoning than I needed....I only used half of it, if even that. These tasted good, but they were a little too spicy for my 5 and 2 year olds.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
This recipe needs no more reviews, but I had to give my five stars--the sauce is so savory and delicious( I did make more sauce and mixed it all together before adding to the crust), the veggie/chicken mix is just right in my opinion and I didn't do anything to the crust--upper or lower--and I thought it was superb. I added the poultry seasoning (1/4-1/2 tsp) and the garlic powder(about1/2tsp) to the chicken mixture and the sauce like the reviewers suggested. OH, and I did use the deep dish crust--I think you have to! I did 40 minutes in the oven @ 375 degrees.

Navy Bean Soup I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
I just went to my deli counter and asked for two thick slices of ham and then chopped it up at home. After the soup was finished I took out about a cup and a half and pureed it in my mini blender. This made the consistency of the soup just perfect! a little bit more of a creamier base....All in all, it was just simple and healthy and turned out delicious! I also took another reviewer's advice and made some cornbread to go with it and that made a great meal.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
this is a good basic recipe...for added flavor, next time I'll grate some onion into it the butter and saute it. I also probably wouldn't even bake it since that only dries it out more and it's perfectly delicious right after mixing it all together. In that case, though, I'd definitely add more noodles. Any cheese combination will probably work--I used part american, part cheddar and part mozzarella, since I was cleaning out my cheese drawer and that's what came out;)

Turkey-Cheese Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
good, and pretty simple to make. I love the thyme flavor, but the dish feels very heavy...the saltiness of the turkey, the richness of the cheese and white sauce...it would probably benefit from some added vegetables: some peas or chopped broccoli maybe.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
This is the best from scratch cake I've ever made. SOOO tasty...my husband LOVED it. I poured all the batter into two pans and the outside kind of burned by the time the inside was done, so if you only use two pans, use less batter.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
Really the best recipe for pork chops I've made....the sauce is just so good--tangy and savory. I love it on my mashed potatoes too! Oh, and this sauce works just as well on chicken! My pork chops were done in almost half the time.

Chocolate Yummies

these were yummy and easy.....the chunky peanut butter really works in this recipe because the saltiness of the peanuts helps counterbalance the super-sweetness. I liked the texture too: chewy but not too hard to eat.

BAKER'S Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
Excellent--they came out dense and chewy--not crunchy--which is how I like them! The only thing I changed was how much chocolate I used--recipe calls for 6 oz, I used 4 and it was plenty. 12 minutes in the oven then pretty much straight onto some wax paper to cool, and they were perfection!!!
