Breakfast Casserole III

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Great recipe. I used frozed potatos obrien instead of baking my own. I also added some chopped bell peppers to the sausage when I browned it. As great as it was, the leftovers were even better the next day wrapped in a tortilla with some sour cream and hot sauce!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
This was really good. I gave 4 stars because it was very bland and needed a lot to get it going. Once seasoned properly, very yummy. I used rotini pasta instead of egg noodles. I also used some white wine to deglaze the pan after I had sauteed the veggies. I added 1/2 the cheese into the sauce. I didnt have mushrooms, so I added carrots and peas. I was able to lighten it up by sauteeing the veggies in olive oil and then only using 2 Tbsp butter for the white sauce.

Mission Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I thought this was very good. I gave 4 stars because I feel it needed a few changes. I used enchilada sauce in place of the pizza sauce. Also, I cooked the ground beef with a packet of taco seasoning, to add flavor. It turned out great!

Water Chestnuts Wrapped in Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I LOVE these. I used 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1/2 cup brown sugar. mixed it all together and then let them marinate. I cooked mine at 375 for 25 minutes because I wanted them very crisp. I made up a nice sauce of equal parts honey and mustard. It was a perfect dip for these gems! Thanks for posting!

This was awesome! The only change I did was to microwave the apples for 2 minutes before pouring onto the cheesecake. The consistance turned out perfect!

This was good. Not as salty as the store taco seasoning packets, but it was good. definitely smelled exactly the same, maybe a bit spicier.

Thanks for posting the recipe I will now always use for chicken salad! This is wonderful. I kept all the spices the same, except I left out the water chest nuts and the swiss cheese. I served it on buns with lettuce and muenster cheese, it was sooo good!

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
Very flavorful. I did marinate my shrimp in bbq sauce with a sprinkle of brown sugar, for about 2 hrs prior to grilling. I used 1/2 slice of bacon per shrimp. I used raw shrimp and raw bacon and didnt have problems with the bacon not cooking. The shrimp was done when the bacon was crisp. I basted with more bbq sauce and it was so good!

Pork Chop Veggie Medley

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
This was ok. I used 1/3 cup red wine in addition to the 1/3 cup water and deglazed the pan and let reduce in half. This added a deeper flavor. The porkchops were definitely tender and good, but I felt the sauce and veggies lacked flavor. I ended up using alot of salt and pepper, and that helped.

Honey Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
This is really really good! Definately has more of a carmel taste with the honey and brown sugar. Absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe exact, except used 5 egg yolks since thats all I had and I also subbed 1 cup of half and half for some of the whipping cream. Definatly will be making this one again. Thanks~

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I thought this was really good. I used beef instead of chicken. But I followed the marinade almost exactly, except I doubled it. I also marinated the beef in it for 2 hrs before sauteing in a pan. It was sooo good and had a great lime flavor. I also used cumin instead of oregano and I added chopped fresh cilantro. I cant wait to try it with Chicken.

Tasty Lentil Tacos

I thought these were really good. I followed the recipe exactly, except we made them into tostadas instead of tacos. I will say that I dont think its a substitute for meat, but definatly very different and yummy for a lentil lover like myself. Thanks!

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
I thought this was pretty good. I dont like my tuna raw in the middle, so I cooked mine for a minute on each side, but I did my DH's rare in the middle and he LOVED it. He is definatly the raw or seared tuna conniseur so I trust him when he says this was melt-in-your-mouth wonderful! Next time I make this, I will probably cut the sesame oil down to 1 Tbsp as I thought it really overpowered the sauce. Also, I based on other reviews, I decided to toast the sesame seeds then sprinkle them on after the tuna was seared. It was very good that way, but I felt like with the toasted seeds and all the sesame oil in the sauce, it was a big taste of sesame for sure.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
I thought this was pretty good, but not 5 stars good. I guess I was expecting the pecan crust to be more crunchy. The honey dijon mustard sauce went very well with the salmon. I was skeptical once I mixed it up and tasted it.
