My mother-in-law makes a similar dish. I made this for my husband and he says it's better than mom's. I used cream of mushroom and the leanest ground beef I could find. This is a must over mashed potatoes. Comfort food at it's best.

This makes fabulous sandwiches. I remove the casings from the sausages and roll them into meatballs. Once I have cooked the sausage and veggies I split Italian sub buns and put them under broiler on low with some mozzarella. It makes a great meatball sandwich! I suppose you could top the sandwich with some tomato sauce, if that's your thing. But it's great without too.
