About this Cook
Married to a wonderful man who will eat just about everything I cook or bake - except anything chocolate! Today, I prefer to bake over cook. I find I cook more in the fall & winter months. I really enjoy food & wine pairing.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook would have to include anything that brings our friends, family and laughter into our home. We entertain often and certainly thru the Holidays. Favorite things to cook would probably be anything Italian. Something I can serve a big, juicy glass of red wine with. I love making homemade pasta sauces, soups and chicken dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of my favorite traditions is baking Holiday cookies with my friend Heidi. We have also made homemade piergoi with my parents and siblings. Good times!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies usually occur when I am scrambling at the last minute just before party guests arrive - burnt garlic toast, burnt phyllo appetizers ... These tragedies always end up outside on the deck.

Best Ever Banana Bread
What a fantastic recipe! The only substitution I made was unsweetened applesauce instead of the oil. Very moist bread without being overly sweet.

Slow-Cooked White Chili
Instead of a slow cooker, I sauteed the onion, garlic & chicken in a dutch oven. I added remaining ingredients and simmered until the cannellini beans started to fall apart. In lieu of water, I used 32 oz. chicken broth, which I believe added more flavor. Next time, will add chopped celery and green pepper for additional flavor.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
Love this recipe. I like the fact it just uses butter without shortening or oil. Added a 6 oz. bag of dried cranberries and a couple handfuls of Giradelli's dark chocolate chips. Very moist with a great flavor.
