Southern girl and proud of it. Good old fashioned southern cooking, with all the butter, cream and salt one can desire. Life's too short to go without. I like cooking much better than baking. I'm not a good baker nor do I have the desire to be. I would rather throw things together and create something original than be confined to prepare perfect measurements in order to (hopefully) get the recipe right. But I do make good pies. (That's kind of a throw-things-together desert though). Maybe that's why. The holidays and everthing that goes with it. Best Cornbread ever. Biscuits. They come out like rocks, every time. Even tried Granny's recipe (she made PERFECT buscuits). A complete and utter failure.
