Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Wonderful! Yes, a bit sweet, but I'm not a vinegar fan, so it's a great recipe. I think I will put in a bit less Miracle Whip next time, as my coleslaw bag was only 14 oz instead of 16oz and it made it soupy. I did use celery seed, which I love, to substitute poppy seed, which I hate.

Awesome! The only changes I made was to broil it for 5 minutes at the end to carmelize it a bit. FAB!!

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I just made this exactly the way she describes it - and it was EXCELLENT!!!! I LOVE Sweet Tomatoes mushroom soup and this was as close as I'm ever going to get to it. AMAZING!!! Now, changes I would make: 1 small shallot, not two. Double the amount of mushrooms. ( prefer button with some shiitakes) Cinnamon is a MUST - BUT do less than a pinch. It's amazing how little you add, and what it adds taste-wise. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipes. I am making again this week! And doubling the recipe since it only made enough for 4 small bowls.

Pasta with Fresh Tomatoes and Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This was awesome! I didn't add the scallions as I don't like them (and forgot the salt and pepper). And it was still great! I did add some leftover beans (black and kidney) from another dinner - heated them up and they were a great addition to the dish! Thanks so much! Hubby said he would love to have this dish again!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
OMG....this soup is amazing!!! I LOVE potato soup and don't like any soup with ham in it at all but this....this was FAB!! I added some corn in and had it with corn muffins. I'm going to be hunting for ham deals from now on, so I can make this as often as possible!! I mean, even my husband gave this 5 stars!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
This recipe was great!! I was tired of the boring whole chicken recipes and wanted something different. Love the zing! I did as others had mentioned, I changed the oil to 2 Tbsp instead of 1/3 cup. Since there was still a bit of fat on my chicken, I thought it was a good idea. I didn't have any lemon, so next time I'll use it with it to see how different it tastes! Seeing my health-conscience hubby actually use the sauce as gravy gladdened my soul! Great recipe!

Stewed Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
This is the first time I have ever made anything with cabbage! The only thing I've ever eaten that had cabbage in it is egg rolls, so hence, my apprehension with this type of vegetable. I decided with St. Patty's Day that I would try something new and I picked this recipe. I actually had to go to work that night, so my husband and son got to eat it fresh. They really liked it. I ate it two days later and it was still really, really good! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because, well, I don't have much experience with cabbage. But I will definitely make this one again and again!!

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
These were really great muffins, but I felt it was more cake-like than the cornbread muffins I'm used to. I mean, I LOVE cake, but not until after dinner. Next time I'll add less sugar and honey, that will probably make it perfect. I'll try creamed corn too...mmm...I can taste it now!

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
I really liked this recipe. I added Ranch dressing, like some people said, to a smaller amount of mayo; which made it great! I even placed the chicken up on a cookie cooling rack so the bottom wouldn't be mushy. Well, that didn't work! Of course, it could be because I had to add a tiny bit of water to the glass baking dish I had the cookie cooling rack in because it was starting to smoke (and no, the water was no where near the chicken - I was thinking the steam made the bottom mushy). I gave this 4 stars because, although I will make this again, I use 5 stars only for blow-my-mind recipes.

Cola Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
Tasted great! I had two huge split chicken breasts, so I halved the recipe. I used two Diet Coke cans and one Diet Coke with Lime to add some flavoring, along with one cup of ketchup. It would have tasted better if that phone call hadn't occured and it burned a bit after an hour and a half. :-)

Baked Mushroom Thighs

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
This recipe came out a lot better than I expected! I've used soup recipes before, so I had a feeling I knew what I was getting, but the taste here was wonderful!! I did take off the skins of the thighs and added mushrooms to the sauce after cooking them in butter. In all, I totally recommend this recipe!
