About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I really don't enjoy cooking. I see it as a chore. However, I do enjoy to bake. I guess because I can be more creative.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There really wasn't any special. My mom didn't cook a lot except on holidays.
My cooking tragedies
My husband and I were only married for a couple of months and I was trying to fry some porkchops. I got the grease too hot and the pan went up into flames. It caught the wall on fire. We managed to get the fire out but the wall was black. It took me many years to get the courage to fry in oil again. Recently, it happened again. However, this time I noticed the oil was smoking and I picked up the pan to take it outside. As I was walking to the door, the pan went up into flames. I ran to the door and threw the pan on the lawn (stupid I know but it was hot). Fortunately, it had been raining for days so the grass was wet. It scorced the grass but it all grew back eventually. I think I finally learned what the appropriate temperature for oil is. It is definitely not the boiling point.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I
I give a four stars but with some adjustments it is a 5 star. I made changes that JillyBean14 summarized from other posts. Turned out great.

Crispy Catfish
It was a nice alternative to fried catfish. Will make again. However, it was a bit salty even though I used reduced sodium saltines. Next time I will reduce the salts.

Four Cheese Macaroni
I took the advice of others and left out the eggs and it turned out perfect. Thanks.
