About this Cook
I'm an old fashioned cook at heart...in fact, I do most of my cooking (except in the summer, of course) on a wood burning cookstove in my kitchen! Food just tastes sooo much better!
My favorite things to cook
Cookstove toast (where you slap it on the top and flip it over quickly before it burns...best with homemade jam), soups and stews, my moms chowder's and pickling recipes, baking of any kind.

Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies
Great recipe! Basic, easy to follow and delicious! Excellent for cut outs too...we used Halloween cookie cutters but I'll be making these again for Christmas. Best of all, you don't have to chill the dough before rolling, just mix it with your hands to form a ball.

Warm Apple Pocket
This was alright, for a pie you can pick up and eat with your hands. Definitely quick and easy to make. Not as gooey as a traditional pie, but I'd make it again, as individual mini pies.

Stuffed French Toast II
Pretty darn good...Mr. Picky and Picky Jr. loved it with my homemade raspberry jam. Next time I'll add a bit of sugar to the cream cheese
