About this Cook
After I married the love of my life, Jon, and moved to Michigan, I found him the perfect guinea pig to try new recipes out on (He's a very handsome guinea pig, I might add). I also am part of a prayergroup that loves potlucks - another slew of taste-testers!
My favorite things to cook
I love experimenting with stir-frys and am trying to get outside the box of Italian food. I love cooking with chocolate and finding all kinds of ways to sneak it in...pretty much anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Easter, my mom would bake these melt-in-your-mouth sweet rolls for brunch. I've begun making them for brithdays and special occasions. I'm also in the process of sending cookie care packages to my nine siblings in New Jersey ~ the perfect way to tell them I miss and love them!
My cooking triumphs
I have yet to enjoy the ultimate triumph. For now, having my loved ones savoring my cooking is enough.
My cooking tragedies
In junior high, I was making chocolate chip cookies for my best friend's birthday. I got distracted and only put in about 1 cup of flour instead of oh, 4 cups! And I used flat cookies sheets. "My cup overflowth" sums it up. Needless to say, my mom gave me the lovely job of cleaning out the oven.

Mimi's Giant Whole-Wheat Banana-Strawberry Muffins
Yum Yum! Substituted 1 c. of nuts for the strawberries and had to cook them for about 5 minutes more. My husband didn't even notice they were "healthy"! My two young sons love them too.

Best Ziti Ever
Not enough cheese. I was dry. And layering the ingredients made it very un-uniform, some taste here, no taster there. I'd combine the ingredients first, then spread sauce over the top.

Easy Alfredo Sauce III
Yummy but came out very grainy. Wish I'd read the review about adding the egg yolks later. I used it for pizza so it didn't impact the presentation much.
