About this Cook
A 35 year old mom of two ages 9 and 12. Married for 16 years to my high school sweetheart. I work part time for a famous Coffee Company, but mostly spend my time at home, and volunteering at the kids' schools.
My favorite things to cook
Cheesecake! My first cheesecake was given to a non-profit organization for their annual dessert auction. It sold for $275- one of the highest of the night. I love making delicious and special desserts, as well as satisfying main dishes. I love to cook most anything, it's just the clean-up that I don't care for.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I found the "absolutely ultimate potato soup" recipe a few years ago on allrecipes.com, and have been serving it on Christmas Eve ever since. I also bake cheesecakes or make dinners to give as gifts to my kids' teachers for their Christmas gifts.
My cooking triumphs
My peach cobbler. My husband is from the south, and had this memory of his grandmother's peach cobbler. I tried recipes one after another until I found what he was looking for. After a few times tweaking it, he told me that mine was actually better than his grandmother's- WOW!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a cheesecake that blew up like a mushroom. I still to this day do not have any idea what I did wrong. It only happened once, and hasn't happened since.

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad
My husband and I own a small cheesecake cafe, but have just started serving this recipe for our sandwiches. In just three days, we have repeat customers for the chicken salad alone. It has almost become more popular than the cheesecake, and I didn't think that was possible- We've created "Chicken Salad Junkies" :)

Key Lime Cheesecake I
This is the perfect key lime cheesecake recipe. It is definitely one that gives you that zing in your jaw, but it's SOOO good! It is definitely worth the extra work.

Pumpkin Flax Quickbread
I was looking for a recipe that would be similar to the pumpkin loaf at St**bu**s Coffee, and this one did the trick! The modifications I made were: 1C white flour & 2/3C whole wheat, 1C sugar, no cloves, but some allspice instead. It was SO good, and WAY healthier than the coffee shop's pumpkin loaf- I should know, I work there. It was FABULOUS!
