Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I have been making my asparagus this way for a while. I love to use Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. The Kosher salt gives it a salty crunch. When I can't use the grill, roast it in the oven at 400 degrees until the tips are toasty and brown. YUMMY!

Zucchini Brownies

This recipe is crazy good. No one that I give these to, believe that there is zucchini it them. Even my friend who hates zukes. It is so moist and sweet..doesn't need the frosting.

This has become my stand-by recipe for wheat bread. I add more whole wheat than called for. Very good bread.

Carrot Cake III

My husband has eaten his fair share of carrot cake in his day. He said this was by far the best. Made it in two 8 inch layers with cream cheese icing.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: May 21, 2004
WOW!!! Just give me a spoon. Tastes like a heavenly mousse. I used orange extract instead of vanilla. It tasted like a orange push-up. Was a little soft. Needs protected from much heat. A keeper for sure.

My first scone attempt. Loved it. VERY fattening, but extremely good. Made 1/2 with currants and the other half with poppy seeds and lemon zest. Excellent.

Boston Baked Beans

I didn't have navy beans, so I used pintos. Only used the molasses, not the sugar, was plenty sweet. Very good flavor. I did add some liquid smoke. Good recipe.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
Wonderful bread. Makes great french toast. I would probably increase the sugar a little. The eggs give it a very nice solid consistency. Toasts exceptionally well.

Country Soup in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2002
A little too salty. I added 4 qts. of water, two cans of diced tomatoes and extra cabbage. I also added a little vinegar to it to brighten the flavor. A good soup. My 13 yr. old liked it too.

Biscotti

My first attempt at biscotti. I had to add a little water to the mixture. It was too crumbly and wouldn't hold together. I used orange extract and orange rind. Very tasty. Will make this again.

Cranberry Orange Toasted Bread

Good bread. Makes a huge loaf. It was a bit too dry. I found I had to add a little more evaporated milk in order to get it mixed up. Is delicious toasted with cream cheese.

Upside Down Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2002
Wonderful variation from traditional pumpkin pie. I don't like pumpkin pie and I LOVED this cake. I did decrease the butter somewhat and couldn't tell anything was missing. A definite keeper. Would also be great with various pie fillings instead of pumpkin.
