About this Cook
Married mother of 3. Have always loved to bake and cook. Does anyone actually read these profiles?
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, especially around the holidays or really any season change. I love to make over recipes, trying to make them healthier for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sweets from October to Jan 1.
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecakes. I usually make one for every occasion.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list. Rock hard breads, flat cookies, and just some bad combinations where I should have known better.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti
These are very good, but I think I will try them with butter next time. I can literally taste the olive oil. I did dip half of each cookie in white chocolate and drizzled with dark chocolate - which elevates the taste from good to very good and the presentation is fantastic.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup
This was fabulous! I used 1 large box of reduced sodium chicken broth and 1 large box of vegetable broth. Followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used a whole chicken and added carrotts. I removed the skin before I added it to the soup and let it simmer for a couple hours on very low heat. The flavor of the broth was so rich, just fantastic. I can't say if it will be better tomorrow, because it's gone.

Gourmet Pretzel Rods
I made these using caramel bits instead of indivdually wrapped caramels. I dipped rods as well as the large sourdough pretzels. I did not completely cover the the sourdough pretzels with caramel as they are quite large. I then dipped them in a combination of dark chocolate and chocolate almond bark. Add some sprinkles and/or white chocolate drizzle and they were beautiful. Tasted delicious too!
