About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking for other people. I get requests from my family/friends and then experiment with recipes until they're to my liking.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that looks good, and tastes even better. Just tried a great flan recipe from this site, and I'm looking to try the "chocoflan" (chocolate cake with a flan layer on top....most delicious thing I've ever had), so if that works, I'll be adding it as my ultimate cooking triumph. :)
My cooking tragedies
The only thing I would consider a tragedy was a cheesecake recipe I tried three years back using ricotta cheese. It may have turned out like it was supposed to, but it was the worst thing I had ever made. Everyone spit it out after taking the first bite, and to this day, I still get made fun of for that by my family.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I
These cookies were YUMMY!! I was a little hesitant to make cookies since I very rarely make them, but these cookies were easy to make and tasted awesome. Family was eating them almost as fast as I was making them! The only problem I had was that I left them in the oven a little longer than the recipe called for since they were lookin' a little pale, so they turned out a little harder than I would've prefered. Still delicious, though. Thanks for a great recipe!! :)

Dark Chocolate Cake I
With all the great reviews this cake has, I decided to make this for my little sister's b-day. I was a tad disappointed with the outcome of it, however. The cake texture was okay (though I added a bit more liquid to the batter), didn't have a problem with the cake sticking to the pan or falling apart as others did, the color and presentation was beautiful, and the chocolate flavor was pretty strong, but I think what lacked was a little more sweetness to it. Also, though the cake was very soft, I personally like mine a little more moist. I frosted the cake with "Creamy Chocolate Frosting" from this site, which definitely helped with the sweetness factor. Overall a good recipe, but I'll probably try this again with some more sugar and possibly some oil/applesauce next time. :)

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle
I had never made trifle before and wanted to reason to make one since I had bought a trifle bowl, and I am SO glad I picked this one!! The pudding mixture was so yummy!!! I didn't use kiwi (didn't have any), and don't really care for pound cake or angel food cake (as others suggested), so I used good ol' Nillas instead of cake, and it turned out really, really good. Presentation was pretty and taste was great!! Thanks for sharing a wonderful recipe!! :)
