Grandma's Corn Chowder
I thought this was very good, but it didn't blow me away like I had hoped.

Thai Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango (Khao Neeo Mamuang)
To make this more authentic you need to prepare "stick rice" or glutinous rice which is available at most Asian food stores. You need to soak this rice overnight, then steam it for 30 minutes(don't boil). Try it out, there is no turning back and you'll feel like you are eating in a little dump on Khao San Road. :)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
I too did not bother with the celery. What a great, filling comfort soup. Had some leftover ham, so this was the perfect way to enjoy it. In fact, I am sure to make another batch tonight. I didn't change a thing other than omitting celery.
