I am a Christian-married-working mother of 3 boys and we have one dog. I love to bake and cook (time permitting). I love everything chocolate! Baking is really my thing. Cookies, cakes, bars, etc. I am also good at comfort foods. Food in itself has always been a tradition in my family. My husband is African-American, and I am a mixture of mostly Norwegian, Sweedish, French, and English, and German. Our meals are sometimes a melting pot of influences. We do big holiday meals and lots of holiday baking. I enjoy making people happy with my cooking. Making lefsa and date filled cookies like my Grandmother used to(but I am not as good yet). Recently I have been working on layer cakes and decorating. While making a butter cream frosting for the perfect italian cream cake I had just baked - I put mint extract into the frosting instead of the clear vanilla I intended to use. Strangely we ejoyed this mistake and I now occassionally bake "Mint" butter cream frosting.
