About this Cook
I am 42 years old and have been cooking since I was 14 years old. I used to work in healthcare but just quit to take some time for me and I really enjoy staying home and being able to cook up delicious meals for my family again! I am married with three children Lindsay 24, David 21, and Kevin 20. We also have two dogs, Sammy, a mutt, and Sohpie, a small beagle. I love to garden, cook and read. I come to this site all the time to find different recipes to try.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything! I unfortunately love to eat everything too. I like chicken dishes the best but I cook just about everything, except maybe liver or lamb. I also like to find different dessert recipes or recipes for a party when having people over.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I sometimes just throw ingredients together that I think will complement each other. Other than that no real traditions to speak of.
My cooking triumphs
Finally mastering a good meatloaf and I am still trying to perfect meatballs. I have tried many recipes but they just dont seem to have a whole lot of flavor.
My cooking tragedies
Gee, where do I begin? My first was a chicken casserole with biscuit mix in it. It was pretty awful tasting. My husband was aghast when we were first married and I served tuna casserole. lol Also I made a pie that looked really good with apples and caramel in it and tthe caramel was hard as a rock. I had brought it for a dessert to a family party. Hopefully I wont have too many more because it is quite emabarrassing when you are considered a good cook and the food you bring isn't very good!

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad
I love this salad but am giving it 4 stars because I like the noodles cooked and not so much uncooked. Instead of peanuts I use slivered almonds like others have suggested. Also, it needs the soy sauce added for a better flavor. Over all one of my favorite summertime salads.

Grilled Peanut Chicken
I thought this was ok but not great. I love peanut butter and thought the flavors worked well together but for some reason was not wowed by it. I am giving this four stars because it wasn't bad, just not my kind of thing.

Blueberry Loaf Cake
Oh My God! I just had my first piece of this and it is SO delicious and moist! I used fresh blueberries and did not change one thing. It is by far one of the best blueberry loaf/cakes I have made and I do a lot of baking! Thanks Nancy!
