Honey Baked Chicken I

I would add more honey to the recipe. I didn't really taste it at all with the amt called for.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
The taste was perfect! The only thing I will change next time is to add a little less mayo, as we like our slaw a little less creamy. It gets creamier as it sits in the fridge.

Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
These are the best homemade brownies I have ever made. They aren't too sweet, and they are moist and delicious. The only variation I had for this recipe, was I used an 8x8 pan, and baked it for about 40 mins. You won't be disappointed. I like a traditional brownie, no fancy additives. This fits the bill!!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Great recipe. I didn't find it too fry, but I did use a larger oval casserole dish vs a 9 x 13. Next time I make it I am going to omit the potato chips, and use bread crumbs. The potato chips fizzled and tasted stale by the time they came out of the oven. I also cooked the onions separately until they were translucent, then added them to the casserole, to make sure they weren't crunchy. The taste was good, and we enjoyed the dish.

Shrimp, Clams, and Scallops Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
Terrific recipe! We all enjoyed this dinner. I left out the red pepper, and I decreased the paste to 1/2 can. I also added more wine (about 3/4 c total), and I added a little clam juice to the sauce at the end. It made just enough to feed 6 adults, it may be 8 technical servings, but I guess we had larger portions. Will definitely make it again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
A great recipe...will use it again, but next time I will get a reduced sodium Cream of Mushroom soup, as the gravy was way too salty. Other than that it is a total winner!! It is similar to another recipe I used, except it is so much easier!! I added red wine vs water, and it was delicious.

The brownies were very tasty...but I agree that they are really too sweet. I may try them again with a little less sugar...

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This is a great recipe. I give it four stars just because I do add add'l spices like garlic powder, onion powder, etc. I also add a little celery and carrots to the dish. It is terrific and everyone enjoys it. It is easy to prep for and assemble.

Italian Anisette Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Wow, I love Anise Cookies, and used to follow a recipe from my Grandmother. She is no longer with us, and unfortunately her recipe wasn't exact (more like a pinch of this, etc) and they were always tough. I found this recipe and all I can say is WOW. They are light and moist and perfect! Thanks!!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I followed some of the reviews, and skipped the tomato soup, and replaced it with 1 can of diced tomatoes, and another can of diced tomatoes with chilis. We are not huge fans of spicy food, so we reduced the pepper flakes to about 1/4 tsp. We only put in 1 tbsp of chili powder, and doubled the garlic powder. I also added 1 tbsp each of brown and white sugars (we like it a little sweeter!).

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Hands down, these pancakes are 100 times better than any boxed mix! This is a staple recipe for our family!! Thanks for sharing! I am going to try them using buttermilk vs regular milk.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
I followed other suggestions to just add one banana. They came out nice with a hint of banana, not overpowering. My hubby never showed an interest in trying banana pancakes, but he enjoyed these, as did our 1 yr old! Next time I make them, I will use melted butter vs the oil, just a preference on my part.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This is a nice dinner, relatively easy. I love balsamic vinegar! I would probably let the meat marinate a bit if I make this again, that way the flavor would really infuse into the meat. The sauce was nice, but it didn't really give the meat itself enough flavor for my taste.

Chickpea Salad with Red Onion and Tomato

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This was a terrific salad. I added some kidney beans to the mix, was a nice contrast visually and texturally. I loved the taste of this salad. I did add some tuna to a small bowl of it, and had it for lunch. I can't wait to try it with some sweet corn kernels!! Thanks for the easy, delicious, and flexible recipe.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
Thank you Thank you!!! I finally was able to get my hubby to eat a vegetable other than carrots or salad!! In his own words "I couldn't even taste the broccoli", and that is a compliment! I did use almonds (sliced), as I didn't have cashews on hand, added a nice taste and texture. Great recipe, very easy!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Nice recipe, and easy to make. I did use chicken thighs (what I had on hand) and added some portabella mushrooms, they added a great flavor to the dish! My husband took the leftovers to work the next day, and said they were even better than the night before!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Terrific cake, it was very moist and dense. Many banana cakes taste like banana bread baked in a cake pan, not this recipe! I topped it with homemade chocolate butter cream icing!

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
Wonderful easy recipe, thank you for sharing it! I used orange zest & sliced almonds vs. the cranberries and pistachio. They are delicious! Followed advice from reviews and used a sharp knife to cut them as soon as they came out of the oven, and they sliced neatly. I wasn't able to achieve 3 dozen with the recipe, I would easily need to double it. However, they are so easy, it is no problem to make another batch!
