About this Cook
I'm a small animal veterinarian, and I started cooking as a stress reliever on my days off. I used to be completely uninterested in cooking, but now I find it cathartic, especially when I'm making something new.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite PB/chocolate chip cookies- they are always a hit! Desserts in general, and slow cooker recipes as well.
My cooking triumphs
-An almond pavlova with coffee cream filling. It took me HOURS (I had to acquire a new mixer during the process) but it was gorgeous and tasted delicious. I also make a rather fantastic bolognese sauce, if I may say so. :P
My cooking tragedies
I've lost track of them all.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder
The only change I made was to use about 1/2 of the chiles recommended (don't like that much spiciness). Turned out great!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
This is the best apple pie my husband and I have ever had! I added cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves to the syrup. I also only needed 5 apples- I think the ones I bought must have been too large because I ran out of room in my pie plate! This is definitely going into my permanent recipe box, and will be used for years to come. Thank you for sharing with us!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
Did the half brown half white sugar version as other reviewers suggested. To quote my husband: "Best brownies EVER!"
