I grew up in a small town, near my grandparents. I even lived with them on and off through my childhood. Now that I am grown and married to a man in the military, recipes from home mean more to me than ever before. I attend weight watchers and focus on whole foods eating. This conflicts quite a bit with the food my granny's are known for. :o) The running joke in our family... Is there a party? No, why? You are making all that food... Oh, that! No, we are just going to Grandma's to visit. There doesn't need to be a party for us to get together and eat! I baked my first whole chicken this year. I overcame the "touching a nasty raw whole chicken" fear to accomplish that! Baking, baking, and baking. You should have seen my "rolls" at Thanksgiving.
