Cinnamon Coffee Frosting
WHOA this icing is waaaay sweet for me. I followed the recipe but stopped adding sugar after 2 cups because it was already insanely sweet. I ended up adding more coffee and some unsweetened cocoa powder to try to add more FLAVOR and less sugar. I added it to the Black Magic cake on this site and wasn't a fan of the combination. I'll have to continue my search for the perfect frosting recipe...

Black Magic Cake
I made this cake for a "cake party" (where all 15 or so guests had to bring a cake that they'd baked) and many people told me this cake was the best. It IS very good, very moist, chocolatey. The coffee taste is subtle, I used a hazelnut blend which was good. I also used the coffee cinnamon icing, which for me was way too sweet, I'd probably use something lighter next time. I imagine you'd be best off with a ganache drizzled on top, or a fruity topping. The cake is moist enough to serve without a heavy icing. Also, in regards to the sticking problem many mentioned -- I greased a 13x9 glass pan with Pam spray and it was completely fine. This cake is delicious, but not mind-blowing enough to be the highest rated cake on this site. I had very high expectations because of that, so that's why I took off one star. But it is definitely a winner, take it to any party and it'll get gobbled up.

Caramel Popcorn
This was everything I hoped it would be. It's a little time-consuming to have to stir the popcorn in the oven every fifteen minutes, but the final product is delicious! I didn't use as much popcorn as was called for, which meant that what I did have was more caramel-coated...(ran out of room in the bowl I was stirring it in). I also didn't need the last 15 mins of cook time (I have an oven that is usually too hot), so if it seems ready before the cook time is up, then you may want to pull it out. Great snack at my Oscar Party!
