I basically taught myself to cook, and started that process very young. My mother (bless her heart) can burn anything...and burnt most everything. She did have one wonderful specialty that became a family Christmas morning tradition..."horseshoe apricot and applesauce sweet rolls") Yum… how I miss those!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. I love soups and stews, I love cooking just about anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Irish cooking...yes I'd be a Lasse! Many Holiday traditional cooking including a Christmas Eve Mexican Dinner my Mother started prior to my oldest brothers birth (47 years ago) and of course the many cookings~
My cooking triumphs
Pumpkin Mousse Cheese Cake (my own). And a big mistake that turned out to be the all-famous Crab Mousse Mold~ seen at many parties and get togethers (at least in my part of the world).
My cooking tragedies
At 14 I tried making my brothers and a friend a nice dinner while our parents had gone out for the night, everything turned out great until I mashed the potatoes... instead of mashed Poes, we ended up with potato soup :( ! They tease me to this day about my potato soup!
