Detroit-Style Coney Dogs
I'm from Detroit and I've thought this is how most people eat a Coney ! Of course the best 'chili' for them is the bulk 'dehydrated' chili you can get from Sherwood Foods. and lots of diced onion and good mustard like Plochmans . one can also put on some saurkraut ( if your from the Hamtramck area ! )

Aunt Shirley's Dietetic Pie
remember to those cooking for diabetics that it may be 'sugar free' , fruit itself is a sugar as are the carbohydrates used. ( flour , pie shell) just a helpful fyi - in other words ? you can't eat half the pie !! just because it's white sugar free !!! great pie recipe however !!

Tabbouleh II
living in Michigan , pre 911 , we had a ton of middle eastern resturants. Not the big corporate ones' but the small Mom and Pop operations where the food wasn't premade in bulk by a machine. Sadly those small resturants that used to be packed and hopping , dwindled and closed. This is very authentic. Just how I was shown to make it by my little old grandmother neighbor before she passed away. However she wouldn't make such a small amount ! ( I put a bit of minced garlic in mine.)
