Clone of a Cinnabon

Today is Pentecost Monday, it's raining, and all the stores are closed here in Switzerland. Perfect for cinnamon buns, espcially these clones. They are excellent, as always. However, I only had 1/2 cup brown sugar so I was forced to expreiment. I spread the left-over half of the dough with butter, white sugar, and sprinkled it with amaretto. The liquer dribbled out when I cut the roll, but the taste was fine. Anyhow, I recommend these to any cinnamon bun fan.

Chocolate Mousse Cake II

This mousse is quite wonderful. Not too chocolaty and not too creamy. I was rather disappointed with the cake however. It was flat, and tasted - um - flat. I wouldn't make the cake again, but I'll be mixing up the mousse. PS There sure is ALOT of egg needed!

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

I have found a new favorite muffin recipie! Really good flavour and texture. I must add though that I halved the amount of sugar... 2 CUPS, plus the additional 1/4 in the streusal topping, is way too much!!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

The inside of these cakes is indeed soft, rich, and similar to quiche. Mmmmmm... yum! I like the fact that they're ready to eat in under half an hour.

This Romano Chicken is like Cordon Bleu without the deep-frying. Next time I'd add a little less paprika to the bread crumbs. Otherwise, there's nothing else to say except: Bon Appetit!

This is a special (BUT SUPER RICH!) treat!!! What's that about this not being presentable?? Be creative! If a dish tastes great, then it most certainly can be made to look great, too! I cut the philo pastry into long strips, putting a layer of strips on the bottom of the pan, covering with half the nut mixture, layering with the rest of the pastry, and topping with the leftover nuts. Also, I cut down on the sugar... for me, sweet with 1/2 cup in the milk & 1/2 cup in the cream!

I give 5 * for flavour, but I'd deduct one * for the time-consuming preparations. We enjoyed these with the peppery honey glaze... it does lend a touch. Great, unusual snack!

Snow Day French Toast

Outside, a snowy Boxing Day... inside, lot's of stale bread in the cubboard... Snow Day French Toast... Perfect! This is so easy and good! I like how the sugar caramelizes, *slurp!*, and how this French Toast recipie does not require cinnamon (no cinnamon fan). I did do a little variation, using buttermilk, normal bread, and light brown sugar. Tip: Make sure you mix the batter frequently, the heavy nutmeg sits on the bottom with the result that the last bread slices are extra nutmeggy.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

These biscotti are, quite frankly, not worth their stars. We did not enjoy them. I can recommend Cantucci Biscotti from allrecipies... more flavour, no oil.

Moist Date Nut Bread

Fabulous recipie! Very sweet, though. I'll cut down the sugar next time (the dates are sweet as is!). Used chopped almonds instead of walnuts (we're not walnut fans). Also, this dough would make good muffins.

Cantucci Biscotti

Mmmmmm... SO DELUMPTIOUS!!! (Delicious + Scrumptious = Delumptious!) The dough spread awfully flat, and I couldn't manage 2 rectangles on one cookie sheet. I used almonds and amaretto liqueur (no hazelnut liqueur available). Also, I didn't use 2 Tsp almond extract, only 2 drops (the European extract here is much more potent). Can highly recommend this great, easy biscotti recipie.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

I was so disappointed with this highly rated recipie. After all the extra effort of following the recipie EXACTLY (blending the oats and grating the chocolate, etc.) these cookies turned out miserable. This definitely does not earn five stars. The grated chocolate looks like worms, the flavour is dry and crummy, and the dough NEARLY RUINED MY MIXER!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nice ChocoChip cookie variation, for a change. The recipie was quite good, easy to follow (my 8yr-old brother baked these) and tasty. Though why use vanilla pudding (or any other flavoured pudding, for that matter)? The vanilla flavour is a bit dominant.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are whopping chocolaty---definitely deep and dark! The cookies turned out soft, crumbly, and brownie-like. Nuts are a good addition and complement the flavour and texture. Very tasty.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

As I'm always on the look-out for new cookie recipies, this one caught my eye (mainly because of the interesting aspect of disolving baking soda in hot water). The cookies turned out WAY different than I had anticipated (very thick and they didn't spread at all). The edges were nice and crip, though the inside a little dry for my taste. Otherwise, good!

We enjoyed this dense, clunchy recipie, though it is much more a cake than a bread. I used half the amount of sugar (2 cups seemed like way too much).
