About this Cook
I grew up on a farm so at an early age I started cooking and baking. I can remember standing on a chair mixing goodies with my Grandma. That is why I have a love for cooking and baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy baking LOTS of Christmas cookies with our daughter and giving them as gifts for Christmas. We also me several batches of Hot Cocoa mix to give as well.

White Stock
Great starter! I didn’t have a veal knuckle so I omitted it. For a clear broth you must start with COLD water, if not your broth will be cloudy. Throw in a few cloves of garlic and some peppercorns. To control the sodium intake in a recipe wait on the salt until you are using the broth in a recipe. I have made broth in the crockpot overnight – makes for a wonderful, very clear broth.

Layered Beef Casserole
Has potential but still needs some work…I used a 16oz bag of frozen corn. I didn’t have any peppers. After I layered the potatoes; corn and onions I sprinkled on a dash of kosher salt; fresh ground pepper; a dash chipotle pepper; and some garlic powder. Then I layered the carrots and ground beef and put on another sprinkle of the kosher salt; pepper; chipotle pepper and garlic powder. Then I topped it with a 15oz can of tomato sauce across the top. Take some tin foil large enough to cover the pan and spray it with no-stick cooking spray – put this sprayed side on meat and seal the edges to your baking pan (this should eliminate the ‘black and crunchy’ meat as a previous review states). Maybe try some nacho cheese sauce or Mexican cheese instead of the American cheese?? My son put some taco sauce on his as he ate it!
