Beefy Hash Brown Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I had a bag of has browns I wanted to use up. I did add the oil to the potatoes but added salt and pepper. I used one pound of beef but two cups of water and two packets of brown gravy. I didn't add the vegetables or the french onions. I did add about a half of cup of chopped onions to the beef gravy mixture. We enjoyed this.

Grandma Jensen's Nuts and Bolts

Good and easy to make. I followed the recipe other then I didn't have cheese crackers or nuts, so added a bit more chex. Nice flavor.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
These were good and easy to make. I used about a cup and a half of cheese, my corn muffin mix I used was Betty Crocker and they were 6.5 ounces, I didn't use the brown sugar and only used 8 hot dogs. I also cut my hot dogs into smaller pieces as others suggested. We all enjoyed them.

Baked Fish and Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I followed some other reviewers advice and used one cup of instant brown rice and one cup of chicken broth. I also sprinkled onion powder and seasoning salt on my fish to give it more flavor. I didn't add the onions as I am not a fan. I followed the rest of the recipe as written. Next time I would leave out the broccoli as I didn't care for it in this recipe. The rice was pretty good though.

Vegetarian Refried Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This was my first time making refried beans. These were easy to make. I followed the recipe other then I used a can of diced tomatoes. Mine only took two hours to cook. I had to add a lot of extra water while cooking which decreased the taste from the chili powder and cumin. Hubby thought they were a bit bland tasting.

Easy Italian Chicken II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I have been cooking chicken like this for years. This is my oldest sons favorite way to eat chicken. I cook the chicken in the marinade and then discard after cooking. I have made chicken this way on the stove, in the oven, on the grill and in the crockpot.

We love this. I have been eating these since I was a child. I do not measure the ingredients, I just spread them on.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

This was just OK for us. Mine took a lot longer to cook and wasn't as juicy or flavorful as I expected. It was very greasy.

Baked Maryland Lump Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
These were good and easy to make. I followed the recipe as written other then I used three eggs instead of the egg substitute. My youngest loved these but hubby thought they were a bit dry. He also thought they could use more flavor. I enjoyed them but agreed that they could use more flavor. I made these up and let them sit for an hour before baking. I loved that they were baked and not fried.

Grilled Pizza Wraps

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
My family really enjoyed these. I didn't use the butter but sprayed my pan with PAM. Also didn't measure the pizza sauce and cheese. I just added the amount I thought we would like. We loved these. They could be made with any ingredients you enjoy. Will be making more often.

Crispy Mashed Potato Pancake

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
As written, these did not work for me. The potato mixture was way too thin and did not stay together. The taste was OK but I think they were pretty bland. I did try to add some flour and some cheddar cheese but we still weren't crazy about them. My mom use to make potato cakes that I loved but these did not compare.

Sunshine Chicken

I made this into an OAMC dump recipe. I made exactly as written except I put everything in a freezer bag. On the day of cooking I thawed in the fridge. I cooked mine 45 minutes covered and 15 minutes uncovered. Everyone enjoyed it. Tasty chicken.

Lentil Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This was good but nothing special. I followed the recipe as written other then I used an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce. I also added garlic as others had suggested. Next time I would also cut down on the italian seasoning as I thought it was a bit overwhelming.

Molly's Chicken

Very good and easy to make. I made this into a dump recipe. I followed the recipe exactly as written other then I used thighs and Splenda brown sugar. I dumped all the ingredients into a freezer bag and froze. When I was ready to make it, I thawed in fridge. I didn't make mine in the crock pot but put it in a pan and cooked it on the grill for an hour and 10 minutes. Very good. My whole family enjoyed it.

With all the high ratings I was expecting a lot more. This marinade made the chicken moist but we thought it was very bland.

Becca's Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This was good and easy to make. I did change up the recipe a bit. I used 33 ounces of V8 and a whole pack of taco seasoning. I also used onion powder instead of onions. I followed the rest of the recipe as written. I cooked this in my crockpot instead of on the stove. This had a nice flavor to it. I topped ours with cheddar cheese.

Specials

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
These were good and easy to make. I doubled the recipe and froze the mixture. I pulled them out and cooked them on the stove (it was too cold to grill). These were good and everyone enjoyed them. I guess I make bigger burgers because with doubling the recipe, I only got 10 burgers.

This was OK. I didn't add the butter and used cheddar cheese. My kids normally eat corn but they didn't care for this.
