About this Cook
I am married to a wonderful man (and cook!) and have 2 elementary aged kids. I am a pharmacy technician and a cook at my church. As a cook, I am responsible for our Wed night fellowship meals where we feed 250-400 each week. Also do catering for different groups at church. I love AR because I can always find just what I'm looking for! My recipe box is HUGE!!!!
My favorite things to cook
The things I like to eat! Comfort food, Italian and Mexican dishes and any other recipes that come highly recommended from other AR peeps!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sugar cookies at Christmas with the kids. We always make choc chip cookies on snow days when school is cancelled. My husband makes No-Bake cookies with my kids about once a month-they don't even need the recipe, they have everything memorized!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I cook a meal that someone has paid to eat and they enjoy it! My 9 year old son is starting to create recipes-it is great to see his process-he doesn't think about cost, ingredients on hand or nutrition... just taste! I think he's going to be a great cook :)
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked mac/cheese in high school I dumped the macaroni into the boiling water and as soon as it came to a boil again I thought it was done (didn't try it)-drained it, put cheese sauce on and served it-rock hard! Also the first time I made a cheese burger I put the cheese on right away and flipped it with the cheese on-I think I was still in high school for that also! My how things have changed!!!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil
Really enjoyed-great flavor. I had to add quite a bit more chicken broth. Also wished I had used a little less basil-mine from the garden was a little overpowering. Added garlic and red pepper flakes and served with chicken breasts stuffed with provolone, artichokes and red pepper-can't wait for the leftovers!

Crispy Orange Beef
5 stars on taste-4 stars on prep-hubs loved it! Not something to make in a hurry, but nice for something different every once in a while. That sauce really did rock!
