German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

I traded out Splenda for sugar. Frosting still turns out pretty good. Easiest to spread when cold, otherwise too runny. Not sure if it's the Splenda, or if it happens with sugar too. Still love it though! Used several times!

Sugar-Free Raisin Bars

I love this! Very very moist! Love it best when warm! I use Splenda for my sweetener. 18 minutes in my oven & it's perfect. I subbed mashed bananas for the applesauce once, ane it was still really good, but needed to be baked about 8 more minutes. Prefer the applesauce though!

Pumpkin Streusel Muffins

Pretty good muffins. Very moist! 18 minutes was perfect. I used Splenda in place of the 1/2 cup sugar. Not overly sweet, but yummy!

Divinity

I've made this recipe 5 times now. Only once did I use a stand alone mixer (Xmas present!). The hand mixers worked ok for me, though the last time I used a hand mixer, I could smell the motor burning. Oddly enough, I didn't need to mix it as long with the hand mixer. The divinity turned out every time. I've made it with & without nuts (prefer pecans). I've also used various extracts instead of vanilla (coconut, orange, cherry, etc). I'm the farthest from Martha Stewart, and this was an easy recipe for me to follow with good results! Thanks for the keeper! My co-workers adore it!!

Spicy Cardamom Crisps

I made these pretty thin to get a really crispy outcome. I also used cookie cutters instead of cutting in triangles. Yummy crispy spice cookie! I just have to add to this rating (7/2/06) - I've made this cookie more than 10 times and EVERY time I'm asked for the recipe, and not one person dislikes it. It's such an unusual flavor. They are terrific plain, and I've also painted them with colored chocolate.

Angel Food Candy

This recipe is lots of fun! Feels like a science experiment when you add the baking soda and it grows three times the size within seconds! Husband doesn't like the dark syrup taste, so I tried light corn syrup. Still tastes like campfire marshmallows (which I like, he doesn't) so I must be burning something even though I can't see it. I dipped them 1/2 way in chocolate and different holiday sprinkles.

Vanilla Wafers III

Plain tasting, really dry. Need a drink after each bite. Nothing like boxed vanilla wafers. Fragile cookies, easily fall apart. Won't make again.
