The only change I made was to use butter instead of margarine. The cookies were delicious. Thank you for sharing.

Easy Hamantaschen

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This is an excellent recipe. I didn't have organge juice and added 1 1/2 tsp. orange extract, but the orange juice would have been better as I needed a little more liquid. Also, 4 cups of flour was perfect, 5 1/2 would have been too much. I used both rasberry jam and plum/prune butter and baked for 15 minutes which was perfect. I will definately make this recipe again and next time I may take some of the dough and shape them into walnut size balls, put an indentation in this middle and fill with jam. Thank you for this versatile recipe.

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

I bake between 375-400. Medium sliced bacon is done between 15-20 minutes. We like bacon on the crisp side. Will never fry in a pan, or microwave, again. Thank you

I have made this bread several times. I always bring loaves of it when I visit my children. It is a favorite of my whole family. I did not make any changes. Thank you for this wonderful recipe.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I have made several of the roll recipes from the site which were good, but these are the BEST. The dough is wonderful to work with, they rise beautifully, but most important they taste incredible. I followed the recipe exactly as written. This is without a doubt my new favorite recipe. Thank you.

Grandma's English Muffin Bread

I made this recipe entirely in my bread machine. It is delicious. My daughter & son are visiting from out of town and enjoyed this so much that I will be making a loaf tomorrow for them to take home.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
I left out the chips and made this recipe in two loaf pans, intending to freeze one loaf for later use since my household is only my husband and I. We had company over and one loaf was gone immediately. I sent my friends home with the other loaf b/c they kept raving about the cake and my friends don't bake [or cook for that matter!!!] Thank you for a delicious recipe.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I scaled this recipe to "12" servings and baked it in my bread machine. It made exactly 12 good sized slices [we use an electric slicer], an equivalent of 1.5 pound bread. It is delicious. Thank you.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I didn't care for this recipe at all. The brownies baked just fine and the texture was fine, it just did not taste good. I followed the receipe exactly, using fresh ingredients. They just had a funny taste and after taste, not a good balance of chocolate.

Golden Honey Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
The only change I made was substituting 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour in place of the bread flour [just personal taste]. This is a good tasting "all around" bread. We enjoyed it plain, excellent for grilled cheese and makes good toast. Thank you.

This is a perfect french toast recipe. I use "Jennifer Houde's Portuguese Sweet Bread I" from this site, cut thick. I have been using this recipe for several years and my family thoroughly enjoys it. Thank you.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
The only change I made in this recipe was to double the filling. I didn't have any raisins, and while I always add raisins to cinnamon buns, the lack of them didn't alter this recipe. The buns were delicious, light and fluffy. I made them last night and my husband and I ate several of them warm. I got 16 large ones from the recipe. I had two this morning [put them in the microwave for a few seconds] and they were yummy. They freeze well and I froze the remainder. I frosted them with a vanilla frosting from the can. Thank you -- this is my new favorite cinnamon bun recipe.

Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I used 3 small sweet potatoes and steamed them for about 15 minutes. I did not add the coconut. I baked them for about 20 minutes and let them rest out of the oven, covered, for about 15 minutes1. I stirred them b/fore serving, which nicely coated all of the potatoes. They were delicious. Thank you.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I made these yesterday. The dough was like working with "silk". I made 1/2 the recipe into dinner rolls and the remaining into cinnamon rolls [which were totally devoured in a short time!!] I just made another batch. There is a little more humidity in the house today, so I had to add a bit more flour before shaping the dough. I made 3 large rolls [for hamburgers] and the remaining into dinner rolls. They are simply delicious and you can get very creative with this recipe. Thank you.

Best Bread Machine Bread

I used 2 1/2 cups bread flour & 1/2 cup whole wheat flour. I did not wait the 10 minutes for the yeast to foam; I simply added the ingredients to my bread machine as usual. It made a delicious bread that rose beautifully and freezes well. Thank you.

Syrian Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
This is delicious. I just came back from visiting my daughter in Ohio and the Whole Foods there had a restaurant type area. Among the foods prepared was pizza made with flatbread. When I got home, I was looking for a recipe to duplicate that, and this is the recipe. I bake the breads 5 minutes and then either put a topping on it and bake until melted or just break the bread in pieces and toast it with my morning coffee. What a versatile recipe. Thank you.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
Excellent recipe. I made the dough in my bread machine using 2 tsp. bread machine yeast. I added a pinch each of oregano & garlic powder to the flour. Also, I used olive oil in place of vegetable oil [just a preference]. My husband likes a medium thickness to his crust and I like a thinner [flat bread] crust, which this recipe accomplished. I brushed a little olive oil on the shells I made and prebaked them at 425 degrees for 5 minutes and froze them. No need to thaw when you are ready to use, just put on the toppings and bake. I baked at 425 degrees, just perfect. Depending on the size of the pizza shells you are making, you can get several shells from this recipe. Thank you.
