About this Cook
I'm a pastry chef.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that can pass as a dessert. I can make anything out of marzipan.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Watching Julia Child on television with my Mum and Dad. Watching my Mum come up with unique ways to cover up cooking mishaps. Making far too many different kinds of cookies for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
My first Wedding cake for a paying customer.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 15 I wanted to make a batch of christmas cookies for my friends, so I preheated the oven (without looking inside) and started to make cookies. After about 10 minutes, an unusual smell filled the kitchen. It was the plastic tupperware that had melted into the 200+ christmas cookies my mother had been storing in the oven. All the cookies were ruined.

Fresh Rhubarb Bread Pudding
This was insanely good and very easy. I made it with some old whole wheat bread, added a little vanilla, and served it with a caramel sauce. It was a huge hit. It's one of the best recipes I've tried so far on AllRecipes.

Quick and Easy Brownies
If you follow the suggestions of only using 1 cup of flour these are amazing. You can throw them together in about 5 minutes and they taste great. They need a full hour to cool to a decent texture and really come into their own the next day.

Best Ever Brisket
Far too salty! I cut back on the salt as another reviewer suggested but only by a 1/2 tsp and that was not enough. I literally WASHED IT in the sink the next day in order to be able to eat the leftovers. For my tastes, the chili flavor was a bit too overpowering. After a good scrubbing under warm water (LOL) it went down just fine.
