My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always cooks a mexican feast for Christmas instead of a the traditional Christmas dinner. Not sure how that tradition got started. We're not even Mexican :P
My cooking triumphs
Cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people, completely from scatch, all by myself. Turkey, gravy, garlic chive mashed potatoes, sourdough dressing, green bean casserole (with fresh green beans and portabello mushrooms) broccoli cauliflower gratin, cranberry orange relish, sweet potato crisp, chocolate pecan pie, and pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust.
My cooking tragedies
Don't know if I've had any "tragedies", but I did try makeing a Beer Float once.........not good. My husband still makes fun of that idea.

Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens
Roasted beats were ok but lacked flavor. I did not like the sauteed beet greens.
