About this Cook
I am 39 with a husband and two sons.I love to cook .I collect cook books. I enjoy reading, cross stitch, crochet and chat online .
My favorite things to cook
I can spend hours making gourmet food if necessary. I prefer simple comfort food. I love to bake and make dessert especially tweeking traditional recipies for different diets like sugarfree or low fat and low sodium .
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned by being in the kitchen with my mother and grandmothers. I am working on compiling a family cook book . It is funny that the women on my mom's side of the family all have recipes on the back of their cup boards ;the same ones in the same places.
My cooking triumphs
I feel comfortable cooking almost anything . The thing I am most proud of is when I learned to decorate cakes .
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes I could not cook them for along time. I almost gave up but when I was a waitress talking with a cook she showed me what to look for and poof all is right.

Good Dog Cookies
I made two batches The first made just as the recipe was written.I made a second batch using the a reduced juice from the pan after cooking pork chops . there was no fat and no salt added either. The dog who only came when he heard his food dish being filled is now my shadow. My 5 year old son snitched one and came back to ask for another . go figure.

Scottish Shortbread III
I love these cookies. They smelled so mouth watering delicious when baking . I had to sneak one when it was time to cut them . I used to buy the ones from Scottland, that will be a rare thing now. Thank you for submitting this one.
