About this Cook
I am a mom of 2 that loves to cook. Dinner is always homemade and on the table by 5:30. Even with a full time job and a busy life, I think it is important to make time to cook and share with my kids.
My favorite things to cook
New things. I love to try things and it doesn't matter what it is!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Once a year my whole family gathers at my grandmas house and we make Cashew Chicken. This is a recipe that originated in Springfield, MO and is unlike any other "cashew chicken" you find at chinese or cantonese restaurants. We have fish friers to cook the large amount of chicken in and Grandma makes the cashew and sweet n sour sauce. My uncle makes the fried rice and then we eat and eat and eat. This has carried over now to my husbands family. I make cashew chicken for them when his sister is in from Vegas.
My cooking triumphs
Making 2 of the best pies for a pie auction at church. The pecan went for $500 and the bluberry/blackberry went for $1000. All the money was for missions.
My cooking tragedies
I had my husband help my fry some sausage for stuffed mushrooms and he managed to get the hot grease all over his stomach. I quick trip to the ER and everything is better!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
Ummm..this was not good at all. I don't think it is a bad recipe, I just think I do not like chicken and dumplings. I could see why someone might like this but I just haven't got a taste for it.
