I'm a wife,Mom and preschool teacher. I have a wonderful husband, three energetic kids, a fat cat, a Yorkie and a fluffy Maltese. I'm a foodie from way back! I remember watching Julia Child on PBS as a small child and being fascinated! I lived for Saturdays when all the cooking shows would be on. I love to cook for my family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Even though I'm a Yankee by birth location, both my parents are native Mississippians. Therefore, I LOVE Southern cooking. I also love to bake although I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I have learned to love Cajun cooking and other spicy cuisines.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is a great Southern cook. She never measures anything...a pinch of this and a dash of that. My favorite dish she makes is her cornbread dressing.
My cooking triumphs
I am "famous" for my chicken enchiladas, spaghetti in parchment and crunchy caramel apple pie.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a casserole recipe I got from this website a couple of weeks ago and it was a total disaster. My family hated it and we ended up having tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches instead!
