Fresh Pear Pie
This is a wonderful recipe, I actually prefer pear pie to apple pie! I have made this pie for friends and family and every time I make it, ppl rave about it. Definitely a keeper and I like how is is a different twist on the traditional pie that ppl do not expect.

Hodie's Sloppy Joes
This is an easy and tasty recipe. I love it too, since it's something that my kids and my husband will eat.

Country Cabbage Soup
This recipes is a keeper. As others have mentioned, it's a great base and it's easy to personalize it to your own tastes. I did make some adjustments. I shredded some carrots in my food processor and added that, put in some extra celery as well. I also am a big fan of a brand of bouillon paste called, "Better than bouillon." I put a heaping tablespoon of the vegetable flavor bouillon (they have beef too, but I didn't have any on hand) into the soup as well. I would recommend against stewed tomatoes, since it leaves you with big chunks of tomato. Crushed or diced tomatoes would be much more appropriate. Overall, a nice recipe for a cold winter day. We also added in a scoop of rice with each bowl of soup. Substituting the ground beef with ground sausage or turkey would probably also work.
