About this Cook
My affair with allrecipes started when I moved to Poland and realized that the available foods were totally out of sync with what I was used to cooking for myself, and none of the partially prepared staples, pancake mix - for example, were available. Allrecipes helped me figure out how to make everything I wanted, and also how to make new things with ingredients I wasn't familiar with. Now I consult alllllll the time. I'm pretty delinquent when it comes to reviewing and posting though!
My favorite things to cook
Thanksgiving Dinner!
My cooking triumphs
I was able to make tamales during the holidays in POLAND!

Apple Coffee Cake With Brown Sugar Sauce
I followed reccomendations of others... heavy on apples, easy on the sugar, and reduce either the temperature or the cooking time. Without the sauce, it was a moist cake-like concoction. The caremely nuts on the bottom were a nice treat. Overall, it wasn't anything incredible. It is a good cake for people who like a more delicate, less sweet cake. I'll try it one more time with the sauce.

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies
I've been looking for a chocolate chip cookie that has a great taste and the perfect texture. Up until now, all of my cookies have come out flat and either ultra-gooey (borderline rubbery) or ultra-crunchy, and even ugly. These are beautiful cookies. It's true- they don't lose their shape. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough.
