This is different than the borscht my grandmother from czechoslovakia used to make but just as delicious. I made it without the sausage and added some beef broth in place of the water. It was just delicious.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

the basics of this recipe delivered as promised for a chewy oatmeal cookie and with the changes recommended to add extra flower and baking soda these cookies were not flat at all. Instead of chocolate chips, though, I used chopped dates, dried apricots, white chocolate chips and pecans, as my original search for a "chewy" otameal cookie was always with the intent of using these other add-in ingredients. This is a good recipe to alter to add what ever you fancy.

Double Chocolate Mint Cookies

these tasted very good, but as others have mentioned, baked very flat, unattractively so. I didn't include them with my annual cookie gifts, beacause they were so ugly. BUT, my family and I did gobble them down, ugly or not.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

my family really liked this dish. the only thing I did diffferent was add some sun dried tomatos and extra red pepper flakes to make it a bit spicier. (we like spicy!)

Ginger Beef Curry (Slow Cooker Version)

Lemon Supreme Pie

it was hard to rate this recipe because I changed it so much, but I did "slimmerize" it by using splenda instead of sugar, used fat free cream cheese and low fat ricotta cheese blended in my processor and omited the crust and the whipped topping....BUT, it came out still very tasty and even my man and my kids loved it.
