I still remember making biscuits for the first time when I was a kid with my grandma, and since then cooking has become an itch I have to scratch on a regular basis. I love cooking for family and friends, and am never happier than when I get asked for seconds! I enjoy cooking dishes that I grew up eating in Louisiana, and I cook a lot of comfort-type food. When possible, I'll try to make everything I cook from scratch, down to the chicken stock for soup or strawberry puree for the cheesecake. Southern Louisiana is big on food, family, and good times, so my family has always gotten together to cook and eat on a regular basis. And now that I have become a stepmom and just had a baby, I look forward to doing the same for them. I take pride in my soups, from beef stew to gumbo, and love to spend all day making it just right! When I a kid, maybe five or six, I got the urge to make soup. Not knowing any recipes, (and wanting to create an original) I decided to make "hotdog soup" Heaven only knows what I put in it, and looking back I feel extremely bad for my family...
